Rob Palfrey
Rob Palfrey’s first career was as an infantry officer in the British Army, serving from 1998 until 2014, and deploying to Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan during that period. Upon leaving, Rob formed Minerva SRM to implement some of the many lessons from those experiences, in the private and third sectors.
Minerva SRM provides bespoke social risk management services, enabling clients to develop and maximise their social performance. Minerva achieves this by employing complexity thinking to understand and influence the social domain, ensuring clients optimise results and protect their businesses.
Rob is also a director of Human Rights at Sea International and is retained by the British Government as a deployable civilian expert specializing as a Conflict Practitioner. Rob holds a Master’s Degree in Social and Global Justice, a Certificate in Conflict Resolution, and a Diploma in Management.
Leanne Emery-Hunter
Leanne Emery-Hunter
Leanne Emery-Hunter is a business leader with 18 years’ experience in building innovative, challenging and impact-driven organisations and scaling local and global teams in industries ranging from telecoms to education. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the Youth Employment Service (YES), a business-driven South African NPO that works with the private sector to tackle the youth unemployment crisis. In 5 years, through its 1,700 corporate clients, YES has created more than 148,000 jobs for young people, injecting over R8 billion into the economy through youth salaries, with no government funding. Leanne holds an MBA (cum laude) from the Gordon Institute of Business Science and was a finalist in the TransUnion Rising Star Awards 2022, in the category of Service: Public & Private
Pravir Jeaven
Pravir Jeaven
Pravir joined the Tax Graduate Program at the KPMG Tax Practice from January 2011 specialising in Corporate Tax. The sectors he focuses on include Financial Services, Private Equity and Media and Communications. His other area of interest is the interplay between tax and technology in the consulting environment. Since then, he was promoted to Tax Consultant in September 2012 and thereafter Senior Tax Consultant during September 2013.
Pieter Scholtz
Pieter Scholtz
Pieter Scholtz is a partner at KPMG and the ESG lead for Africa. Pieter holds a Metallurgical Engineering degree from the University of Pretoria and an Executive MBA from INSEAD. Over the course of his career, he has transitioned his career from metallurgy and operations management to sustainable development and general management. Over the last decade he has been at the forefront of developing and implementing sustainability projects that find the intersect between socio-economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and financial viability for companies. He has a specific interest and focus in social sustainability. In his current role he leads the integration and growth of ESG teams across Africa that assist clients with social performance, decarbonisation strategies, ESG reporting, ESG assurance, circular economy and net zero plans and strategies, sustainable finance and green deals, ESG tax and legal support, and governance.
