Despite much political rhetoric about driving private investment into public infrastructure, the reality is that investment levels are continuing to decline and few new projects have been started. Why is that and what can be done about it? Dr Theobald will present the answers.

Social Impact Bonds: Dr Zoheb Khan, Head of Social Economy Research

Social impact bonds are a mechanism to crowd in private investment capital to finance public services. Two SIBs have been launched in South Africa. Intellidex has undertaken extensive research to assess the performance of the SIBs and the lessons learned for the future application of this approach. Dr Zoheb Khan will set out the findings for SAVCA members.
