Mr. Luthuli is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund, a position he has held for more than 7 years. Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Ithala Limited. Mr Luthuli is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is the deputy chairperson of the Batseta Council of Retirement Funds for South Africa.

He has previously served on the board of directors of various JSE listed companies.
